Lionel Messi’s chance to become a legend

There is a common thread among the greatest names in football: all of them dominated at least one World Cup, leading their country to the most prestigious prize in the game.

On Monday morning (AEST), another man has the chance to reach legendary status.

Argentina superstar Lionel Messi has already won
everything there is to win at club level, including six La Liga titles with Barcelona and three Champions League crowns.

Four times he has been awarded the Ballon d’Or as the best player in football.

He is widely regarded as the best player of his generation.

The World Cup means more.
